Welcome back. Today I want to share with you a short 'how to'. Last week I shared some pictures of the purple butterfly party I attended a few weeks back. If you missed it you can go here to catch up. I promised some tutorials on a few decorations I made for the party. A few days late but here is my first one on how to make a cupcake wrapper wreath.
Styrofoam half wreath Ø 30cm
Hot glue gun
First start by covering your styrofoam wreath with strips of crepe paper. You could use fabric for this part if you wanted. This step is to make sure the white of the styrofoam doesn't show through.
So I was doing really well up to this point. But then my new, yes brand spanking right out of the box NEW hot glue gun started giving me attitude and I was about to throw everything out and giving up. But then just before the hair pulling started I managed to calm down and give it a rest for the day. All well and good but I forgot all about being a good blogger and take pictures of this part when I resumed working on the wreath the next day.
But it comes down to this. At this point you want to start glueing the cupcake wrappers on to the wreath. I folded my wrappers in half and then half again and attached them to my wreath with hot glue. Remember a little glue goes a long way. I found it handy to work in groups so as to give the glue time to harden before touching a grouping again to fill in the blank spots.
After you finished attaching all the cupcake wrappers you want it's time to attach ribbon to the back to your wreath will be able to be hung.
After I was finished I decided to add that little sing that says "Feest", party in Dutch.
Check back tomorrow for my burlap banner tutorial.
