Did you catch my post this week on new goodies in my shop? I showed you this little table lamp I redid.
I decided to take the opportunity to make a tutorial out of it. I hope you will be inspired to try something similar for your self. I do love making over old lamps. To make them new again with some paint and fabric.
The lamp started out looking like this. By the way my mom is the one that brought me this little lamp. Bless her I think I infected her with my love of thrifting. It did not have a shade so I needed to find one small enough to fit.
Here is how I did it:
- I first took the original fabric from the lampshade. I used this as a template to cut out the new fun fabric
- I cut out the new fabric
- Next it was time to spray the lampshade and the fabric with glue and attach the fabric to the shade. To make the edges nice and neat I made slits into the fabric all around the top and bottom
- To finish up I put fabric glue all along the edges and stuck the fabric down making sure to get the fabric around the frame of the lamp
Have a great weekend and see you next time.
